The Pale Bull

The Pale Bull is an online creative writing magazine published out of Bard High School Early College Baltimore. We are seeking poetry, short fiction and art from high school students currently enrolled at BHSEC. We especially encourage you to submit work that plays with format, medium and genre. Take this opportunity to try something new, discover your voice and share your story. We appreciate work that is unflinchingly authentic, vulnerable, passionate and contentious—pieces that are real.

Our reading period is currently: CLOSED

Submission Guidelines:

To submit: email your submission in a in .doc or .docx format to thepalebullmag@gmail.com with your name (first and last) and type of submission included in the subject line.

POETRY: up to 5 poems, in a single document

FICTION: up to 2 stories, 1000-3000 words each, in separate documents

ART: 5 pieces

Note: We accept simultaneous submissions as long as you notify us if the piece is accepted elsewhere, but we do not accept work that has already been published elsewhere. Upon acceptance, please withdraw your poems from other consideration.
